Early Morning Walk at Ocmulgee Mounds | Naming the Bridges & Exploring the Trails

I got up early this Saturday morning, ready to move and clear my mind. On the way out, we decided to visit Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park in Macon, Georgia. I’ve always wondered how many bridges are tucked away in this beautiful park, and today felt like the perfect day to find out.

During my walk, I discovered three different bridges, none of them had names. So, I gave them each their own identity, inspired by the journey and the energy of the land. Along the way, I reached the historic Earth Lodge, completed several peaceful trails, and ended my walk at the Funeral Mound by way of the shaded Loop Trail.

One out of three bridges I found that day.

Of what name I deemed this bridge to be :)

The Earth Lodge

It was a beautiful morning filled with cool air, soft light, and the kind of quiet that lets you hear your own thoughts. Join me as I explore, reflect, and connect with the sacred ground of Ocmulgee Mounds

I didn’t just named 3 bridges that day.  I also named this path as the MOUNDWALKER path.
This path will lead you straight to Earth Lodge.

As I realized, it’s gonna take more time to encompass this park, I’m gonna have to return the next day to search for more bridges.  In total we walk for about an hour to locate the bridges and these trails today.

I really did enjoy this walk and this park this day.
Thank you Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park
