Planting vegetable and herb seeds indoor

Today I bought Jiffy Professional Greenhouse with 36 palettes for under $5.00 at Wal-mart. You simply add 1/2 litter of warm water, slowly, to expand the entire package.  Each palette will increase in size to about 1 to 1.5 inches.

I used rain water and a turkey baster to slowly add water to greenhouse.

Each row of six palette I planted seeds of the following:
  1. Green Beans
  2. Tomatoes
  3. Cilantro
  4. Lavender
  5. Cucumbers
  6. Basil.

The first set of seeds I planted indoors in the first of this month.  Two green bean and two tomato plants are outside.  The rest of the seedlings are still in their greenhouse without the lid.  It's too cold for to be outside.  and tonight is going to dip below freezing.  I'm hoping the four I have outside will survive.  Although they are each in their own container, I have 2 litter plastic bottles covering the plants.  Hopefully that's enough to protect them from the unforgiving cold tonight.

Gardening Stuff from Dollar Tree

I went to Dollar Tree today for rice and dog food and noticed that they have an area for gardening stuff.  I was impressed with all of the varieties of seed packets they have.  The best part is, the packets are marked for .99 cents but are on sale for 4 for $1.  That's a bargain.  I haven't done my research to see if these seeds are none GMO's.

So I grabbed four packets.
Lavender, Thyme, Basil and Sage.
They all states on the packet that they are ideal for containers.

The clay pot is unbelievably only for $1.  The clay pots measures 5x5 inch.  I think these will be perfect transplanting the cilantro to these pots and leave them to grow permanently in this container.  I'll just have to make sure to replant more cilantro every two weeks from seeds.
I'm definitely going back for more clay pots.

Although the clay pots are a great deal. I'm going to use larger plastic container from Dollar Tree until they are ready to go to a garden bed.

I'm very excited this year for my vegetable garden.

I've been watching lots of Youtube videos regarding vegetable gardening.
I don't know which method will work for me, but I assure you I don't want to spend lots of money doing it.

Day 11 of my vegetable garden

Here's an update of my seedling tray.  Four out of 16 units didn't sprout at all.  I think some of the cilantro and all of the tomato plants germinated.  2 of the green beans didn't.

I remove the plastic cover because the plants are growing too tall and one of the plants have reached the plastic cover.

I am new to vegetable gardening.  I really hope, I have a good outcome this year.
