Breaking Dawn - my review

Got my nook and the second book I purchased is the Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer.  I read the New Moon and Eclipse.  But with the reviews I read on Amazon about Breaking Dawn... it made me skeptic about buying and reading Breaking Dawn.  but I couldn't help it... after over a year... I decided to buy the book although the movie has been out at the Theater.

I've read over 50 pages over the 400 and something pages in one night.  So tonight... I decided to watch the movie that's been sitting in my friend's house for some days now.  and I must say... I love the Twilight series. and can't wait for the Part 2 of Breaking Dawn.

Andaman Islanders 'forced to dance' for tourists - for food

Rights campaigners and politicians Wednesday condemned a video showing women from a protected and primitive tribe dancing for tourists in exchange for food on India's far-flung Andaman Islands.
British newspaper The Observer released the video showing Jarawa tribal women -- some of them naked -- being lured to dance and sing after a bribe was allegedly paid to a policeman to produce them.

Under Indian laws designed to protect ancient tribal groups susceptible to outside influence and disease, photographing or coming into contact with the Jarawa is illegal.

The tribe, thought to have been among the first people to migrate successfully from Africa to Asia, lives a nomadic existence in the lush, tropical forests of the Andamans in the Bay of Bengal.
India's Tribal Affairs Minister V. Kishore Chandra Deo promised to take action over the incident, terming it "disgusting" on Wednesday, and the home ministry has sought a report.
Survival International, which lobbies on behalf of tribal groups worldwide, said the video showed tourists apparently enjoying "human zoos."

"Quite clearly, some people's attitudes towards tribal peoples haven't moved on a jot. The Jarawa are not circus ponies bound to dance at anyone's bidding," said Stephen Corry, the group's director, in a press release.

In June last year, Survival International accused eight Indian travel companies of running "human safari tours" so tourists could see and photograph the Jarawa.

The London-based lobby group called for tourists to boycott the road used to enter the reserve of the Jarawa tribe, who number just 403 and are in danger of dying out.

The Andaman and Nicobar tropical island chain is home to four other rare tribes -- Onge, the Great Andamanese, the Sentinelese and the Shompens, each numbering fewer than 350 members.
Another tribe called Bo died out in January 2010.

The Andaman police downplayed the video, calling it "old" and blamed the British journalist for forcing the Jarawas to dance for the tourists.

"It is obvious that it is the videographer who is breaking the law of the land and who is inciting the tribals to dance," senior Andaman policeman S.B. Deol said in a statement.

1 bed 2 dogs

These two are amazes me sometimes.  They fight, they dont' share food, sometimes they don't like to share space.  But they don't mind sharing their dog bed.  I forgot to bring the other dog bed from the back porch and they end up sharing the only dog bed in the house.  So cute :)

Feeling under the weather

I'm not feeling so good.  Although I feel miserable, with a stuff nose and running ooze, I just couldn't stay laying and resting all day.  I took the girls out this morning.  I found poop in the house.  that's what happened when you wait till 10am - 11am to get them out so they can do their business.

Anyway, I am not an advant believer that you do not loose your appetite when your're sick.  Unless I'm just special that way.  I had two chocolate fudge Pop Tart with Green Tea, can of chicken noodle soup, another est of Pop Tart, then Jamie brought me home a Burrito Supreme from Taco Bell, and I was craving for some rice and sardines, so I made some rice and can of Salmon and mixed it with a can of diced + chilli totato sauce.  NO I DID NOT LOOSE MY APPETITE.  and this is the new year, I'm suppose to be staring on a new healthy lifestyle.  LOL!  Maybe when I'm free of work and free of this illness, I will then begin my journey to loosing 50 lbs.

2012 Top 10 Most Endangered species

World Wildlife Fund has put together a top 10 list of endangered species to be on the look-out for in 2012. Help protect their future by visiting www.WorldWildlife.org/how to see what you can do to make a difference for our planet.

Leatherback turtle – The leatherback turtle has survived for more than a hundred million years, but is now facing extinction. Recent estimates of numbers show that this species is declining precipitously throughout its range.

Sumatran Orangutan – The Sumatran orangutan is the most endangered of the two orangutan species. Found only in the northern and western provinces of Sumatra, Indonesia, the species is fast losing its natural habitat to agriculture and human settlements.

Mountain Gorilla – The mountain gorilla became known to science on 17 October 1902, and is a subspecies of eastern gorilla.

Atlantic Bluefin Tuna – Tuna is perhaps the most high profile victim of unregulated and uncontrolled overfishing. Bluefin tuna populations have declined alarmingly over the past few decades.

Vaquita – The vaquita is a very small porpoise that lives solely in the Gulf of California, Mexico. The species is critically endangered primarily as a result of entanglement in fishing nets.

Irrawaddy Dolphin – Some populations are close to extinction such as those in the Mekong River and Malampaya Sound in the Philippines. The main threats are from fisheries bycatch and habitat loss.

Another New Home

We finally moved in to the new house.  The previous house was savage by the girls.  We didn't have a backyard for the dogs or a place for them to run loose on their own.  So the house was left with their mark and scent.

There are still plenty that needs to be done to make this place comfortable.
  1. How water tank not working.  I hope its electric.
  2. Bathroom is very dirty.  I hope they are planning to do something with that carpet in the bathroom.  Or I might have to lay some tiles on my own. or maybe some lenolium.
  3. Front of the house.  The screened area need to be swept.  I'm gonna need some chairs for lounging and maybe a table or two.
  4. Need to wash all of my curtains and hang some shear curtains around the house.  - I'm going to need some fasteners for the curtain rods.  Or maybe I need to buy some fancy curtain rods.
  5. Office area - I want to install Shelving unit where the books are at right now.  The whole entire wall will be a shelving unit.  I'm going to try to make it big enough to hold my 19" flat screen TV. and the small radio and speaker unit.    Add two chairs and small round table in front of the shelving unit.  Thats going to be a cute little reading nook.  I'm going to need brackets, wood panels, saw (electric or hand saw), sand paper to smooth out the rough wood, paint, cordless power drill, stud finder, leveler and before and after picture.
  6. to be continue...
